Petra Němcová
Petra Němcová (born June 24, 1979 in Karviná, Czechoslovakia) is a fashion model and founder/president of Happy Hearts Fund (an organization dedicated to helping children who have endured great hardship). During the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, Petra's photographer/fiancé was killed and she suffered a broken pelvis and several internal injuries. She was awarded the "Survivor Award" in 2005 bl Glamour Magazine for the way she picked up her life after the ordeal, and completed her return to modeling with an appearance in Sports Illustrated's 2006 Swimsuit Issue. She also appeared in the 2007 British FHM calendar as Miss May. She is now the host of TLC's A Model Life. Petra is also a published author with her 2005 book Love Always, Petra which tells of her early life under Communist rule in Czechoslovakia, her entrance into the field of fashion and modeling, and her breakthrough into Sports Illustrated and her life with Simon Atlee, her ex-fiancé.
